This is the first book that I have read by Kristin MacQueen the cover is sexy, the playlist that goes along with this short story is spot on, you need tissues when you read this book. So many mixed emotions I had when reading. The story starts Taylor had a heart transplant two months ago, and her donor was her Boyfriend Jack who died in a car crash. The family wanted him tested to see if he was a match, he was. Easton, Jacks older brother had to tell her that Jack died after she had the procedure, she wished she would be dead as well. But life has a different path as she begins to heal and follow her heart. Easton, Jack and Taylor were three neighbor kids who became best friends. Easton and Jack are brothers, Easton the older of the two. They did everything together, best friends. Easton's Mom wanted him to hang out with the two younger kids because Jack was a trouble maker or trouble finder, and Taylor, well she wanted to keep up with them. Easton had a crush on Taylor, as she had one as well, but neither approached. One day Easton told his brother he was gonna ask Taylor out, Jack lost it, said no, you cant shes mine, and Jack ran and asked Taylor to be his girlfriend. She said yes, Easton didn't ask her. Jack and Taylor were together years, after he passed, secrets started coming out, at first I got mad At Taylor for her feelings, but then I could understand she was cheated out of something due to jealousy. There are several twists and turns, I don't want to give spoilers, its a heartbreaking story of greif, lies and healing.
